Rambling in Tickton thanks to Junior Ground Force

Three schoolgirls from Tickton – Hannah, Georgina and Ellie have had a busy summer.  They have created a picnic area at the end of Carr Lane with wildflower bank and raised money from sales of plants, books and cakes to buy a picnic table which is now in place and had a litter bin installed. With the help of many kind parishioners they have also planted up foxglove banks bordering one of the plantations. They have created a leaflet, “Rambling in Tickton,” which shows the public rights of way in the Parish.  A copy of the leaflet is available from Tickton Stores or by request from the clerk.  For an electronic copy click here

The girls want to encourage people to get out more and to know where they can and cannot walk and ride.  They would also like people to respect the countryside and have flagged up the following messages:

  • keep dogs under control at all times
  • pick up after your dog and put the poo in the bins
  • horse riders must keep to bridleways
  • walkers should keep to footpaths and not stray onto farmlandYou can see videos of their walks around the rights of way on ’ You Tube’ – just search for “Junior Ground Force”.
