Police Report Update

Cold Callers

Since October there have been 13 reports of offenders approaching or cold calling on elderly, vulnerable persons’ doors – 12 of which occurred in December.  The male and female offenders who are operating across multiple wards within the East Riding are using identity cards stating that they are deaf and dumb.  They have been asking occupants to look at their pictures, which are then offered for sale, and asking for money.

Please do not give any money.  If it is safe to do so, please get descriptions, vehicles registrations etc. and report to the Police as soon as possible. Please make sure you do not leave anything on show either at home or in the car, make sure you keep doors (including sheds) locked and windows closed.

Increased theft of lead

Due to an increase in thefts of lead, not exclusively but including from Church roofs of late, Humberside Police are asking that communities remain vigilant and has renewed appeals for information.

To report crime please contact Humberside Police on 101 (non-emergency) and 999 (emergencies only).  To pass on information that may be of interest, but not to report crime, residents can email: ticktonandweelnwg@gmail.com
